Your Questions, Answered

Planning ahead brings peace of mind, but it also comes with questions. Below you’ll find clear, straightforward answers about how STAY works, who it’s for, and how a proactive approach helps you remain independent and prepared as life changes.

  • How does STAY help provide financial security?

Long-term care can be unpredictable and costly. STAY uses a capitated financial model with set fees, allowing members to plan for future care at today’s costs. This proactive structure helps reduce financial uncertainty, limit exposure to rising care expenses, and create a more stable, predictable plan for the future.

  • How is STAY different from traditional long-term care or retirement communities?

Most senior care systems are reactive - support often begins only after a health decline or crisis. STAY is proactive. From day one, members receive personalized planning and a dedicated Wellness Navigator who addresses all aspects of well-being. Instead of moving into a facility, care is coordinated around the individual, supporting independence at home - for life.

  • Why was STAY created?

The majority of adults want to remain in their homes as they age, but the current system isn’t built to support that goal. With a growing aging population and limited long-term care capacity, STAY was created to offer a smarter, more sustainable solution: proactive planning that supports independence, reduces crisis-driven decisions, and fills the gap between aging at home and traditional care models.

  • How can I learn more about STAY?

The best way to learn more is by attending a free informational seminar. These sessions provide a clear overview of the program and allow time for questions. Seminars are offered regularly for both individuals and business partners. If there isn’t one scheduled near you, we’re happy to help coordinate one.

  • Who is STAY best suited for, and how do I qualify?

STAY is designed for adults age 55+ who are currently living independently and want to plan ahead. Because this is a proactive program, applicants must qualify financially and complete a medical assessment during the application process. Planning early is key - STAY is most effective before support is urgently needed.

  • How long have Continuing Care at Home (CCaH) programs been around?

CCaH programs have been established for over 30 years, primarily in other regions of the country. STAY is the first and only CCaH to bring this proven model to Kansas, offering a proactive alternative to traditional aging and care options. Our service area is currently 100 miles from Hutchinson, Kansas.

  • Does Medicare pay for long-term or senior care?

Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover long-term care. While it may cover short-term skilled or rehabilitation stays, ongoing long-term care is not included. Many people are surprised to learn this and are forced to spend down their assets before qualifying for assistance. STAY helps members plan ahead so they are not left with limited options or forced financial decisions later.

  • What happens if I eventually need more care?

As needs change, STAY coordinates additional support through trusted partners, always guided by your Wellness Navigator. If living at home is no longer safe, long-term nursing care is available at no additional cost beyond the monthly membership fee - providing peace of mind and financial protection without last-minute scrambling.
